The Kingdom of San Andreas is a semi-constitutional monarchy located in the Pacific Ocean, occupying the entirety of the San Andreas Archipelago of Venturas. The nation is one of the smallest states in the world and the smallest state in North America.

History

The San Andreas Archipelago was colonized by Spain, just like a large part of Mexico as well as the Californias.

During the war of 1846, then under Mexican rule, the small state declared its independence just like Texas. Although the Republic of California and Texas joined the Union at the end of the conflict, the newly formed Republic of San Andreas maintained its independence due to its opposition to slavery as well as its limited strategic importance.

Nevertheless, the Republic was too inefficient, corrupt and under-industrialized, creating strong tensions within the small state which culminated in a rebellion by part of the army. At its head, General Gabriel Lopez took control of the country in 1850 and established the Kingdom of San Andreas.

In 1985, the country’s communist party, the Communist Party of San Andreas, organized a coup d’état through its armed wing, the San Andreas Liberation Front, and forced the monarch at the time, Jose I, into exile. The Socialist Republic of San Andreas was proclaimed and repressive measures were enacted, which led to numerous demonstrations in all the country’s cities that were harshly suppressed by the People’s Army of San Andreas.

In 1989, following the fall of the Berlin Wall and various communist regimes, the people rebelled and overthrew the ruling communist regime, managing to restore the Kingdom as well as reinstating the monarch Jose I to his throne. In 2025, following the death of José II from a heart attack, his daughter, Queen Ximena I, took up the torch. The small nation is officially neutral but maintains good diplomatic relations with Mexico, while trying to distance itself from its communist past, holding Russia and North Korea in low regard.
